From the 12th to the 18th of July 2015, a team of 17 physicians and volunteers from the Fundación Fernández-Vega and the Fundación Barraquer, will perform in Luanda, in collaboration with the Health Ministry of Angola, approximately 500 cataract surgeries and over two thousand ophthalmology check-ups. It is the first time that two of the most important ophthalmology foundations in Spain travel together with a joint objective: to improve the vision health of the inhabitants of this war-torn country.
The Health Ministry of Angola and Sphera Bluoshen will coordinate the expedition. The foundations have taken to Angola, on top of their staff and all the necessary medical equipment, 3 surgical devices.
